Heel slides are a crucial exercise after knee replacement surgery. Regaining knee flexion is one of the most important goals in the early post-operative period. This exercise should be performed multiple times daily, gradually increasing the bend as swelling decreases.
How to Perform
Lie on your back with legs straight. Slowly slide your affected heel toward your buttocks, bending your knee as far as comfortable. Hold the bent position for 5-10 seconds. Slowly straighten your leg back to the starting position.
