The Quadriceps Set is a fundamental isometric exercise that strengthens the quadriceps muscle without moving the knee joint. It is one of the first exercises prescribed after knee injury or surgery because it is safe, gentle, and effective.
How to Perform
Sit or lie down with your affected leg straight. Tighten your quadriceps muscle by pressing the back of your knee down into the floor or bed. Hold the contraction for 5 seconds, then relax. Focus on feeling the muscle engage without bending your knee.
