The Straight Leg Raise is a critical exercise in ACL rehabilitation. It helps restore quadriceps function and control while protecting the healing ACL graft. This exercise should be performed with the knee fully locked in extension to ensure the quadriceps are doing the work.

How to Perform

Lie on your back with one leg bent and the affected leg straight. Tighten your quadriceps and lock your knee straight. Slowly lift your leg 6-12 inches off the ground, keeping the knee straight. Hold for 3-5 seconds. Lower slowly and repeat.
