Therapeutic Taping & Strapping

Therapeutic Taping and Strapping uses non-elastic adhesive tape to provide support, protection, and movement guidance to joints and muscles during activity. Unlike Kinesio Tape (which is elastic and designed to move with the body), therapeutic strapping tape is rigid and designed to limit excessive or harmful movement while allowing safe, functional motion.

This technique is widely used in sports medicine and rehabilitation to protect injured joints during return to activity, correct faulty movement patterns, and provide proprioceptive feedback to the nervous system about joint position. The tape acts as an external reinforcement, giving the athlete confidence to move while protecting healing tissues.

At Actilife, our therapists are skilled in various taping techniques for different body regions — from ankle strapping for sprains and patellar taping for knee pain, to shoulder taping for instability and thumb taping for sports injuries. Each application is designed based on your specific needs and activity demands.
